16, 17, 18 & 19 October 2018
The University of Concepción Cultural Corporation and its Symphony Orchestra present the fifth Outreach Season 2018, bringing free concerts to several counties and educational institutions with the purpose of attracting and building new audiences.
The orchestra will split into two sections (strings plus percussion, and winds plus percussion), which will perform the same program of Latin American folkloric pieces, including La cumparsita, La Violeta y la Parra, La pollera colorá, Flor de la canela, Alma llanera and Chan chan in music arrangements by Rodrigo Tapia Salfate, and led by our Resident Conductor, the Chilean Pablo Carrasco Villablanca.
String and percussion ensamble, 23 musicians:
- Wednesay 17 October, 15:30, Colegio Manuel Dalzón, Lota.
- Thursday 18 October, 11.00, Centro Cultural, Tomé.
Wind and percussion ensemble, 38 musicians:
- Thursday 18 October, 16:00, Colegio Brasil, Concepción.
- Friday 19 October, 10:00, Colegio Etchegoyen, Talcahuano.
Additionally, the Concepción Symphony’s Horn Quartet will perform on Friday 19 October at 11:00, in the Centro Cultural, Lebu.
Free admission to all concerts.
