The Cinema Mondays series, produced by the University of Concepción Cultural Corporation, completes its 2015 season with the Spanish film “Ocho apellidos vascos” (“Eight Basque Surnames”), directed by Emilio Martínez-Lázaro. Monday 23rd November at 15:00, 19:00 and 21:30 in the UdeC Theater. Entrance fees: $1,200 (general audience) and $600 (students). The series will return in January 2016 with a special summer program.
Rafa is a young man who has never been in need of leaving his native Sevilla to get want he wants. Everything changes when he meets a woman who resists his charms: she’s Amaia, a Basque girla. Determined to conquer her, he moves to a Northern town where he must earn her father’s approval. For this purpose, Rafa will have to impersonate a Basque man, in what becomes one of his worst nightmares.
