19 October 2018
The Pop&Rock series in the UdeC Theater will write a new chapter on Friday 19 October at 20:00, with the performances of renowned local singers Rocío Peña and Dulce y Agraz, and the Mulier band.
This space created by the University of Concepción Cultural Corporation offers a stage for emerging and well-established bands, both regional and national. On this second version, the series brings together renowned female exponents of Concepción’s pop and rock.
Rocío Peña, musician and anthropologist, has developed diverse artistic and cultural projects. With creative independence, she has developed a wide discursive range, encompassing from her own everyday universe to a critical view on social issues, including environmental concerns, the rescue of tradition, and the contradictions of urban life, with a music approach always rooted in the guitar, but elegantly flirting with “author’s pop”.
Mulier is a music project by Nicole Varo (voice and guitar), Natali Parada (guitar and backing vocals), Katherine Carrasco (bass and backing vocals) and Paula Segura (drums). They started Mulier in 2014 in Concepción, contributing their diverse styles and influences that shaped this project with hints of rock and pop. One EP, one LP and their performance at the third REC in 2017 consolidated their presence in Concepción’s musical scene.
Dulce y Agraz is the pop project of singer Daniela González. In 2015 she edited an EP and has launched several singles in preparation for her first disc. She has performed in festivals in Perú, and Ecuador. This year in Chile, she appeared in Ruidosa and REC. She stands out for her poetic lyrics, feminine topics, nostalgic melodies and the clarity of her voice.
