With a full house, the 2015 Chamber Concert Series of the Concepción Symphony Orchestra reached its final evening. The event took place on Thursday 15th October in the UdeC Theater.

Admission to this concert and to the whole series was free and open to all audiences, thanks to the joint work of the Cultural Corporation and the Directorate of Cultural Outreach of our University.

Members of the Symphony Orchestra performed ‘Dérives’ by Pierre Boulez and the Introduction and Swedish Air with Variations for clarinet and piano by Bernhard Crusell. Then, they presented the Violin Concerto nº 1 (from “La Stravaganza”, Op. 4) and one the Concerti “for the Dresden orchestra” by italian composer Antonio Vivaldi.

Finally, the Symphony musicians and the UdeC Choir (prepared by their director, maestro Carlos Traverso), and soloists Andrea Aguilar (soprano), Cecilia Aguayo (soprano) and Marisol Hernández (mezzosoprano), performed the well-known “Gloria” by Vivaldi. This and all other Vivaldi works were conducted from the violin by Ramiro Vera.

The Symphony Orchestra and Choir will perform again next Saturday 24th October, at 19:00, in the 9th Symphony Concert. The program includes the well-known Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Entrances fees: $ 6,000 (general audience), $ 4,000 (UdeC partnerships), and $ 3,000 (balcony and students).
