“Concepción Jazz”, a new music series produced by the University of Concepción Cultural Corporation with the Discos Pendiente music label, presents the Concepción’s band Los Temibles Sandovales and Sebastián Jordán Quinteto on Wednesday 2 August at 20:00, in the UdeC Theater.

This music encounter brings together the power and experience of outstanding exponents of the genre: Los Temibles Sandovales, formed by Camilo Morales (violin), César Arriagada, Elliot Poblete and Felipe Sandoval (guitars), Pablo Vidal (double bass) and Jorge Fierro (voice) have cultivated the so-called “Jazz Manouche”, also known as Gypsy Jazz. The band has played in the “Django Reinhardt” Internacional Jazz Festival in Argentina, and has also been part of the main jazz series in Concepción. In 2016 they presented their first disc, “Los temibles”.

Sebastián Jordán, trumpetist and composer, is one the most active musicians in Chile. He has played in international tours, has participated in the recording of more than 40 discs and has issued four albums as a soloist. On this occasion, he will present his most recent recording, entitled “Trapecista”, with a renovated quintet that includes Agustín Moya (tenor saxophone), Rodrigo Espinoza (double bass), Sebastián Castro (piano) and Carlos Cortés (drums).

Box office is open on Mondays from 12:00 to 14:30 and from 15:15 to 21:30; Tuesdays to Fridays from 12:00 to 14:30 and from 15:15 to 20:00, and Saturdays from 12:00 to 14:30 and from 15:15 to 17:00. In case of a concert, theater play or other activity, the box office will remain open until the event starts.
