With two performances to a full house, the University of Concepción Cultural Corporation staged ‘L’elisir d’amore’ by Gaetano Donizetti, on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 at the UdeC Theater.

The audience had the opportunity to enjoy a funny romantic –and also nostalgic– comedy about a woman who is able to arrange any circumstances to her own benefit, and an infatuated young man who is deceived by a ‘doctor’ who claims being in possession of a love potion.

The Concepción Symphony Orchestra and UdeC Choir performed with Chilean singers Andrea Aguilar (Adina), Sergio Járlaz (Nemorino), Sergio Gallardo (Dulcamara), Ramiro Maturana (Belcore) and Annya Pinto (Giannetta).

This staging was led by director Gonzalo Cuadra, set and costume design were by Germán Droghetti, and the choir was directed by Carlos Traverso. Music director was maestro Donato Cabrera, guest conductor of the Concepción Symphony Orchestra.
