The 2017 Cinema Mondays series presents “Rara”. Screenings will be on 8 May at 15:00, 19:00 and 21:30 horas. Entrance fee: $1,200 (general audience) and $600 (students).
She likes boys, but she finds them stupid. She’s very close to her best friend, but she doesn’t share her secrets with her. She has trouble at school, and her parents are boring. These are the kinds of problems faced by Sara, a 13-year old girl who doesn’t care that her mother lives with another woman, even though her father feels differently. ”Rara” is inspired in the story of Karen Atala, a Chilean judge who came out publicly as a lesbian and sued the Chilean State for discrimination when she was denied custody of her daughters by the Supreme Court.
