With over 150 years of history, the National Ballet of Ukraine will visit our country with its principal dancers. They will perform five galas with highlights from “Swan Lake”, “Carmen”, “Don Quixote”, “Nutcracker”, and “Scheherazade”, among other pieces. These performances are a part of their “2018 Perú Chile Argentina Tour”, and will take place from 23 to 26 August in Chillán, Talca, Valparaíso, and Concepcion.
Praised as one of the most outstanding dance ensembles in the whole world, the National Ballet of Ukraine is a company with an artistic level comparable to the best theaters, such as the Bolshoi, Kirov and Paris Opéra. Currently, they have 24 acclaimed productions in their repertoire, and their cast include the principal dancers Tatiana Golyakova, Jan Vaña, Katerina Kozachenko, Stanislav Olshanskyi, Christina Shishpor, Ekaterina Kruk, Ruslan Avramenko, Lana Lanchuk, and Yevheniy Svyetlitsa.
Celebrated by the international critics, this prestigious company was founded in 1867 as part of the National Theater of Ukraine, achieving its international renown since 1893, with performances of major ballet works, ballroom dances, and stories from their own country.
In Chile, the National Ballet of Ukraine will offer five not-to-be-missed performances on 23 August at the Teatro Municipal in Chillán; 24 August at the Teatro Regional del Maule; 25 August at the Aula Magna, Federico Santa María University, Valparaíso, and 26 August at the UdeC Theater.
