In its Dance Program, the University of Concepción Cultural Corporation and its Symphony Orchestra present “We are from Latin America”, a multidisciplinary show with music, dances and songs that will take us in a journey through outstanding folkloric pieces from our continent. It will be performed on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 October at 19:00 in the UdeC Theater.

The Concepción Symphony Orchestra will perform with the Coronel Folkloric Ballet directed by Felipe Toro and composed by 25 dancers, and with the singer Francisco Aravena. All of them, under the musical direction of conductor Jaime Cofré.

This show includes performances of “La Violeta y la Parra” and “Romance de los Carreras” (Chile), “La Cumparsita” (Uruguay), “Alfonsina y el Mar” (Argentina), “Raíces del Festejo” y “La Flor de la Canela” (Perú), “Ñuca Llacta” (Ecuador), “Takirari” and “La fiesta de San Benito” (Bolivia), “Alma Llanera” (Venezuela), “Chan chan” (Cuba), “Aguas de Marzo” (Brazil), and “La pollera Colorá” (Colombia).

Admission fee: $6,000 (general audience), $4,000 (UdeC partnerships), $3,000 (balcony and students).

Box office is open on Mondays from 12:00 to 15:00 and from 15:45 to 21:30; Tuesdays to Fridays from 12:00 to 15:00 and from 15:45 to 20:00, and Saturdays from 12:00 to 14:30 and from 15:15 to 17:00. In case of a concert, theater play or other activity, the box office will remain open until the event starts.
