With an extraordinary concert devoted entirely to German composer Ludwig van Beethoven, the Concepción Symphony Orchestra launched its 2016 Symphony Season. The performance took place on Saturday, April 2 at 19:00 in the UdeC Theater.
With world-class soloist Armands Abols, the orchestra performed the Piano Concerto n° 5, ‘Emperor’, under the alert and precise guidance of Chilean maestro Juan Pablo Izquierdo, achieving as unforgettable moments as the first entry of the piano in the Adagio, wrapped in the strings’ soft mantle.
The audience also enjoyed the energetic performances of the Overture to ‘The creatures of Prometheus’ and the 8th Symphony, which made clear that Beethoven is the visionary initiator of the great romantic movement that reigned over the then nascent 19th century.
