Tickets completely sold-out for both performances of the dance staging of ‘Carmina Burana’ in the UdeC Theater. This impressive ‘mise-en-scene’ was produced by the University of Concepción Cultural Corporation and took place on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th November.

The Concepción Symphony Orchestra and the UdeC Choir and Ballet, with soloist dancers Lucas Moya and Diego Rivas, and soloist singers Patricia Cifuentes (soprano), Maximiliano Rivas (tenor) and Ramiro Maturana (baritone) brought to life this masterwork by German composer Carl Orff.

The Argentinian maestro Darío Domínguez conducted the Concepción Symphony Orchestra, and Carlos Traverso prepared the UdeC Choir.

The choreographic direction was in the hands of Patricio Gutiérrez, who combined classical and contemporary elements, giving shape to this wonderful and intense staging. Such topics as spring, power, deceit, gambling, lust, and the struggle between good and evil, were enacted for our audience in the various scenes of the staging.

The Concepción Symphony Orchestra will perform again next Saturday 21st November, in the tenth and last symphonic concert of our 2015 Season. The concert will take place at 19:00 in the UdeC Theater.
