In spite of the rain, a good attendance came to the UdeC Theater to enjoy the Second Chamber Music Concert with free admission that took place on Thursday, May 19 at 18:00 in the UdeC Theater.
Thanks to a joint effort by the University of Concepción Cultural Corporation and Cultural Outreach Directorate, this 2016 Chamber Music Season are being presented in the UdeC Theater with free admission and no invitations required.
The concert started with the Serenade for Winds, K. 375 by Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Then, Czech composer Franz Krommer’s Octet-Partita for Winds was performed.
The program was completed by several pieces by Argentinian composers, including Atahualpa Yupanqui’s Los ejes de mi carreta [“My cart’s shafts”], in an arrangement for horn’s quartet.
This concert was conducted by Argentinian musician Daniel Kovacich, Associate Principal Clarinet at the Permanent Orchestra of Colón Theater (Buenos Aires). Additionally, Kovacich is very active as a wind instrument instructor and has conducted many ensembles of both academic and popular music: chamber music ensembles, jazz orchestras and clarinet ensembles, among others.
